In Kunar the young teenager brings an Afghan suspected of being a insurgent by the US forces to a US base. The suspected insurgent dies in US custody a few days later. Rather surprisingly the teenager and his father the governor of the province where the death occurs suspect no wrong doing until the CIA investigates. This book offers a riveting account of the relationship of the Afghan border tribes to the Afghan state as well as the elections in Afghanistan which resulted in victory for President Karzai.
