Sinclair, Roland |
Adventures in Persia Through India by the Back Door |
The story of a journey made by Sinclair in 1926. He set off from Beirut in a Model "A" Ford to visit the major cities of Iran in order to investigate the possibilities of trade with an English company. He travelled through the Lebanon and Iraq, then via Tabriz, Tehran, Qum, Isfahan, Shiraz, Kirman, Baluchistan and Zahedan all the way to India. This was a transitional period between the donkey age and the advent of the internal combustion engine, when natural hazards rather than political difficulties made such a journey perilous in the extreme. Hardback UK 1st edition 1989 mint in DW. £12 |
